Our commitment to sustainable development

The MAGORA Group has been committed to sustainable tourism for several years!
Our commitments are many and varied, here are just a few examples:

  • Most of our cleaning products are ecological and/or natural.

  • The cleaning kits are in cardboard packaging, no unnecessary plastic is used. Their containers are made from Eco-label products.

  • We strongly limit the distribution of paper, booklets and leaflets. We know that these generally end up in the bin, or in the environment, very quickly! So we're trying to tackle paper overconsumption.

  • Our heating system uses wood pellets, which is a preferred eco-friendly solution as it utilizes sawdust and wood shavings, eliminates greenhouse gas emissions, and relies on a renewable, clean, and abundant energy source without the use of harmful chemicals.

  • At the bar, we only sell drinks in glasses (some of which are returnable). No plastic bottles or cans. This is part of our drive to limit waste and encourage reuse!

  • We work with local producers for our breakfast products and some of the drinks in the bar. Our aim is to promote local expertise and short supply chains!

  • Our Spa works with the Payot brand. A Made In France brand committed to women and ‘Clean Beauty’.

In this initiative, we aim to raise your awareness: Small individual actions can have significant collective impacts!

  • Please monitor your water and heating consumption in your apartments.

  • Thank you for remembering to turn off the lights when you leave your accommodation and to close the windows when the heating is on.

  • We also encourage you to sort your waste, with dedicated containers located on the sidewalk in front of the reception.

  • If you have breakfast, we encourage you to avoid food waste.

A harmless gesture with serious consequences

When the snow melts, the cigarette butts resurface! By the end of winter 2024, we collected 1.5 kg of cigarette butts, totaling hundreds, from the gardens of the Residence. Remember that a single cigarette butt can pollute up to 600 liters of water!

Here, we’d much rather offer you a view of the snow-capped mountains than mountains of cigarette butts! Ashtrays are available in all your apartments; please make use of them ;)

How do I sort waste at Alpe d'Huez?

You'll find rubbish bins in two different places:

  • When leaving reception, on the pavement on the left as you go down the stairs.

  • As you leave the car parking, turn right up the street.
